Steve Bannon now predicts Republicans will lose the Senate in Nov

During an episode of his War Room podcast, former Trump advisor and current podcast host Steve Bannon said that the Republican Party would probably lose its majority in the Senate if it continued with what Bannon described as an “old-school,” television-centric campaign strategy.

He warns that there’s “no enthusiasm” for door‑to‑door canvassing or voter contact anymore and blasts GOP Senate leadership for failing to energize the MAGA base, arguing that without a confrontational “showdown” with party leaders, the midterms will slip away.

Will Republicans take action to correct these trends in grassroots organization before the midterm elections?

Bannon also warned Republican activists that they can’t sit back and think they can conveniently use Donald Trump’s name and branding, as it may not be enough to carry Republicans to victory because the president’s favorability is in the gutter.

His dire prediction doubles as a motivational speech and a warning because Republicans are defending more seats, Democrats have strong pickup opportunities in places like Maine, North Carolina, and Alaska, and national moods in midterms usually favor the party out of the White House.

Public forecasting models currently do not predict a definite loss for Republicans in either House of Congress, but they do suggest that the race is very competitive, and that slight changes in voter turnout among independent voters and soft partisans could potentially shift control of both Houses.

Steve Bannon, in January 2017, entered the White House with Donald Trump as one of the President’s top advisors. However, he ultimately resigned from his position as Chief White House Strategist seven months later due to several months of infighting with other high-ranking officials within the administration. After resigning, he moved back to his original job at Breitbart News.
